While celebrating the new year, please pray for this September’s sixth Medical Volunteers International (MVI)’s mission.
The MVI and Surgeon Volunteers jointly invited North American Chinese doctors to participate in Haiti’s volunteer medicine in September 2020.
- Time: Sep 13th – 19th, 2020 (4 working days, 1 day of Excursion)
- Location: Cap Haitien, Haiti’s second largest city
- Doctors needed: Doctors in the clinical department.
So far, 14 doctors and 1 student have enrolled for this Haiti mission and this team is the largest one so far in MVI mission history.
The doctors will be formed in two teams:
- The Primary Care team, including mainly family, internal medicine / specialty medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology doctors.
- The “Make Men Smile®” surgery team, including surgery, anesthesia and other doctors with some surgical skills.
Cap Haitien is only about 90 minutes away from Miami by plant. This round trip is short and convenient. It is also in Easter time zone, which minimally impacts a doctor’s routine hours.
Cap Haitien holds both Citadelle Laferrière, the largest fortress in the Western Hemisphere, and Sans-Souci Palace, which together are designated as the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Haiti
